Salt Grass

The sea grasses near Galveston, Texas. Of course, as soon as I got there, the clouds rolled in.
I'm running out of shots from TX; need to head out on another photo shoot, somewhere. Went to SC today, but forgot my camera (I can't believe I did that!).

Old Castle

A shot from the beach at Virginia Beach. Something about the undulating sand from footprints, with the mound in the middle, attracted me.

You Can Tune A Piano...

A restaurant in Virginia Beach had this sign outside...RockFish was the name of the restaurant. All I could think of was the album (REO Speedwagon, I think) called "You Can Tune A Piano, But You Can't Tune A Fish."

Moon Gathering

I took Bob's advice and tried some night shots. This was still dusk, taken in Galveston, Texas. I'm not sure I'll post the long exposure stuff. It's not that great! :-)

Watch Your Mouth

This sign made me laugh out loud when I saw it next to the road at Virginia Beach, VA.
It's been a long week, which is why no posts for a while. But, I did take my camera with me all week. I hope I have one or two worth posting.Copyright © 2005 by MexiPickle

All Star

Today we finally were able to have Jonathan's birthday party, after postponing it a week because of Spring Break. It was an all-boy, sports theme party. We had basketball, soccer, tee ball, jai alai, tennis, horseshoes, and an obstacle course. This shot was just after lunch. Jonathan loves basketball, and he's a pretty good shot.

I used Chromasia's info on blurring and soft focus to adjust this photo. I'm not sure if I went too far. I'd be interested in feedback on that.

Negativi-tree

I took this on the way to Western North Carolina today. A gorgeous morning.
I used an "invert" command, suggested by this post at [daily dose of imagery]. I'd love to hear what you think of this "look" and treatment.

We've Got The Beat

More from The Ted. These guys were great, and there is a huge timpani just behind Homer (the mascot). From what I read, they are all students at Clark Atlanta University. We watched for quite a while, but we didn't get any free shirts :( .

The Azaleas

The azaleas are now in bloom! This lovely specimen is in my front yard. If I'm gonna keep shooting flowers, I've gotta get a macro lens!

Whoa! Slow Down!

Playing around with the zoom lens while waiting in the car. Sometimes I can't keep the camera out of my hand. I probably should have, though.

Purple Dino

These kids were at the park with us on Sunday. I thought they were oh-so-cute!

If you would, critique this shot. I'm not happy with how bright the sand is. Does it look too bright to you? I played around with burning it to make it darker, but the overall shot then looked darker. Does it need to be cropped tighter? Thanks for your comments!

Andruw Gets a Hit

We went to the Braves' last preseason game on Saturday. It was very cold and windy, but we still had fun. Maybe we'll make it to a regular season game this year!

Posted in honor of the Braves' opening day.

Daddy, Don't Let Me Fall

Jonathan's not real daring, but he did brave climbing these trees, as long as he didn't see any bugs :) .

Notice all the blooming trees! What a sight!

I Cannot Tell a Lie...

Spring in Georgia is gorgeous, and the azaleas aren't really out yet. The cherry trees are all in bloom, the Bradford pears are about done. Jonathan and I spent a couple of hours at the park on Sunday; I'll be posting shots from there for a while. I hope you don't get tired of the pretty trees! By the way, just a little sharpening on this. Colors are "as they were."
