Gothic Chimney

I have been spending a lot of time in Memphis lately, and this is one of the locations I've been in. This school happens to own their own stone quarry, so all the buildings match, even the new ones. It's quite a place, a bit of the Ivy League in the South. Ya, that's a slate roof. Notice how the tiles get smaller as they go up to the peak. I'll be posting pics of their new (2004) library in the next few days.

Fourth & Pike

This was the view out and down from my hotel room in Seattle. I could see the bay, but I didn't get a good shot from the hotel room. I was intrigued by this building, though.

WaMu

More from Seattle, this is part of the WaMu (Washington Mutual) Center, which I think is home to the symphony, among other things. The sun reflecting in the glass was quite striking, and it seemed like sunset would never come!

Surf Sun Sail

Recent travels have taken me to Seattle, Washington. I had never been to the Northwest US, and I wish I had more time and energy to explore. Working trade shows gets pretty tiring, and hiking around afterwards was not high on my list of "to dos"! I did make it down to the bay to take some shots the first evening. I didn't get anything I was particularly happy with, but I have a couple shots to put up.

As always, I would love to hear some constructive criticism.

800

The ID tag on the crane service's truck we used today. Mike and Matt were awesome with the crane and the fork lift. Mike says this is a 1975 model truck and there's no telling how many miles it has on it!

I haven't posted anything in days, or maybe weeks. and this is probably a pretty weak effort, but it feels good to be posting something!

Living Color

While playing at the playground the other day, J paused long enough for me to shoot this one. He's 100% boy, full speed ahead all the time. And I love him to pieces!

My Baby

She's a teenager now, but she's still the little girl I held in the hospital in NICU oh, just a few days ago, it seems. I'm glad she still likes to play at the park and play Frisbee with her little brother and be silly with me and her mom. Of course, she likes Sims and texting and all the other stuff teens do, but she's a pretty great kid!

Lava

More of the lava lamp. I took some black foam core and put it behind the lamp, which was sitting on a black office chair. The foam core was about 6" behind the lamp. I used the tripod and even got out the speedlight and fired it wirelessly. Yeah, I'm in photo withdrawal!

Lava Bullet

Okay...so I haven't posted anything in, oh, months. And I'm going a little photo stir-crazy since I haven't had time to shoot anything, and I don't like anything in my archive to want to spend any time processing them. So today I took my daughter's lava lamp--yea, her lava lamp--and set it up near the window and took, oh, about 75 shots of a freakin' lava lamp! You'll get sick of them soon, I'm sure!

Anyway, this looked cool turned sideways, kind of like a bullet. I do like the blue lava inside, and the glow from the lava.

yea...i'll keep looking for something better to shoot!
