The Duelist






































The reenactment on the 4th of July included the reading of the Declaration of Independence and a skirmish between the Tories and Colonists. Here, the leader of the Colonists fires at the Tory leader after stepping off ten paces.

"When, in the course of human events..."






































And thus began the Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America, adopted by Congress on July 4, 1776.

Here, the reading of the Declaration is re-enacted at Nash Farm Battlefield in Henry County, Georgia. It was actually pretty moving.

The re-enactors were very good, staging a duel between the Tories and the Colonists.
