Point Park

A confession: I am not a native Southerner, unless Southern California counts. Originally from Los Angeles, my family moved to the Southeast (NC) when I was eight years old. That's where my interest in US history started...with the Revolutionary War battle near Greensboro, where we lived. When we ended up in Chattanooga during my high school years, my interest in the Civil War grew. Frequent field trips to Lookout Mountain (Point Park) and Chickamauga battlefield just fueled that interest. Of course, I also learned that true Southerners do not call the Civil War the Civil War...because it was not Civil. Many referred to it was The War Between the States, but my favorite was "The War of Northern Aggression."

Just thought you'd like to know.....
