SkyDome Elephant

Okay...I swear this happened. I was having dinner back in July at SkyDome (RogersCentre) in Toronto. Looking down from Hard Rock Cafe, we saw an elephant and a little girl. They kept walking in and out and looking out through the dome. We didn't know what was going. We thought maybe they were practicing for the circus.

Fast forward to Sunday. I'm watching NFL football and a commercial comes on for Texas Instruments DLP technology. It has this girl and this elephant, looking up at the sky to the DLP light. I was stunned...and recognized it immediately! You can see the girl and elephant at the ad at the top of this page ti.com .

This is very funny. Small e-world. I'm a freelance producer and worked for the agency JWT putting together this job. We shot 5 spots with the girl and the elephant, all the principal scenes shot throughout Ontario.

Interestingly, all the spots are shot on HD video with the state-of-the-art Grass Valley Viper camera system at 4:4:4. The full 1920x1080 HD versions of these spots on the DLP sets is something to be seen.
