Suburban Silo

This goes to show that there are still farms in the metro Atlanta area. This is just down the street from my house, about 20 miles from downtown Atlanta. I hope to meet the owners so I can roam a bit for better shots. This was from the side of the road.
Clicked for my friend Bob at NoTraces; he loves farms!

Duck Rise

I was out early this morning and saw this sunrise across the street from the local high school. Probably a bit overexposed, but I'm overall happy with this.

Baby J

Posted for PhotoFriday's theme this week, "Pink," (number 537). This is my grand-niece (I'm really not that old!), taken at Christmas.

The White Post

Another shot by the lake. A car drove by during the exposure (114 seconds long), highlighting the white posts and giving a red taillight trail.

Table for 4

A night shot at the lake near our home. I adjusted this in Pixmantec RAWEssentials to get the orange tint from the lights out of it.

Plane Trails

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the busiest in the country, both in terms of number of planes taking off/landing and in terms of passenger count. You can see several plans coming in for a landing here.

Plane Luck

This was complete luck. I clicked the shutter just as the plane entered the frame. I really like this. My daughter was with me, and she couldn't figure out what I was all excited about, until she saw the shot on the LCD. Moments like these are what keep us shooting!

Update 11/7/06 Thanks for the Noteworthy from the Photo Friday folks! It's such a thrill :-D

Moon, Part I

My neighbor Scott (scottevans.com) loaned me his telescope with the Nikon mount. So, I shot the full moon tonight. It was really windy and hard to keep the lens steady, even with his Manfrotto tripod, so a lot of the shots were a little blurry. But, I got a few good ones I'll be posting, along with some of the nearby lake.

Shoes

A shot of everyone's shoes during the recent holidays, at Grandma and Papa's house. And, a treatment of the same photo.

Jogger

Virginia has some nice rest areas that gave the kids a chance to run around and stretch their legs. Of course, I got a chance to exercise my shutter finger.

Taken on our recent vacation over the Christmas/New Years holiday. Can you tell A's favorite college? :-)
