Red Wave

More from my scavenger photographing during my hours at the airport on Friday. I created this with an action from atncentral.com. I might also post the original photo, without the triptych frame. What do you think?

Mirror Lights

Another one of those shots from when the camera is burning a hole in the bag...you just have to shoot something! While my boss was driving us across Virginia, the sun was setting behind us. I watched it in the mirror until I had to try to capture it. The camera shake is pretty bad because of driving while shooting, but I like the way the sunset silhouettes the tree and the lights were bouncing. Probably too blurry for most people's tastes, but I like it for fun.

Ceiling Grid

This glass atrium is in the Williamsburg/Newport News International Airport in Virginia. When you have to wait over 6 hours for your flight, you start looking around for stuff to shoot!

Taken at 12mm...'cuz it's fun.

PS Star

Shot this out the window at a traffic light...then played around in PS, just goofing.

For those of you out West, this is the same logo as Carl's Jr, who bought Hardee's a few years ago, I believe.

HHS Class of 196?

These concrete stepping stones were used to raise funds to renovate an old church in Hapeville, Georgia. I know some of the people listed in these stones; memebers of the church my wife worked in, in Hapeville. Some of them are gone now, and it was fun searching for their names in the stones.

This has had a Lomo action done to it in PS/CS2. The action came from atncentral.com.

Two Sluggers

More from Turner Field, where I made J stand up against the wall...can you tell he's less than thrilled?

The Green, Green Grass of Home...Field

When we were at Turner Field, J. decided he didn't want to wait in line to throw in the bullpen. So, he walked out into the outfield by the bullpen. We tossed the ball to each other, I took his picture in front of the big Hank Aaron mural, and we just enjoyed being there.
Then I noticed the area we walked through had a broken "caution" tape....we had effectively jumped the security rope. I herded J back toward the rope just as the security guard came over to chase us away. I apologized and pointed out that the tape was broken and I hadn't noticed it when we walked past....which was true....until I noticed it when we were tossing the ball....and I just ignored it.

Sometimes you have to do that kind of stuff for your kids, as long as no one gets hurt. ;-)

"I Got It!"

More from our visit to Turner Field and Braves FanFest last weekend. J. did a lot of the fun things, like running the bases and catching pop flies, as he's doing here.

I toyed with cropping out the wall, but felt it gave more a sense of place. What do you think?

Sitting Room Only

The seats at Turner Field are ready for Opening Day of the baseball season, and so am I. The Super Bowl is over, and who cares about pro basketball or hockey? Okay, there is March Madness, but that's only a couple of weeks. As baseball fans know, Super Bowl means Spring Training is right around the corner!

Thumbs Up, Dad!

Another product of lugging my camera to lunch and dinner whenever we go out. I'm sure some day my kids will be totally embarrassed by this, but for now, they still ham it up. I'm glad they do!
Oh, this DOF is all in-camera. I only did some color touch-up in PS.

Bluenose

Okay, this is gonna sound weird....like many of us, I take my camera everywhere, including lunch after church on Sundays. One of our favorite places is Popeye's Chicken, where this guy lives. Well, lives might not be the right word. He's part of the wallpaper, actually. Sunday, he was talking to me, photographically speaking....so I shot him. I have to do what the voices tell me!

My Girl

This is my daughter, A. i haven't put up many photos of her lately. I've been struggling with taking shots of her...seems her teen years are a challenge for me as a photographer. I have boxes of photos of her as a young girl--she was very photogenic!
So, then it occurred to me to try a high key process on this shot. I am pleased with the way this turned out, and so is she. I'll have to try more processing ideas in the near future...better go get the PS CS2 book!
I am open to critique on this shot and processing. I need to learn!

Smiley Boy

We go out to lunch every Sunday after church. Popeye's is our favorite place, but we have fun wherever we go, as you can see on J's face!
