Stars of Gold

Stars from the WWII Memorial in DC. One star for every 100 American dead. Four thousand stars in the memorial. I can't help but think about the "Gold Star Mothers" of WWII, hanging a star in the window when they lost a son.

Men of Stone

From the Korean War Memorial in Washington. I visit this every time I'm in DC and think of my dad while I'm there, looking at the statues and wondering what it was like being there (he was a SeaBee). I love you Dad.

EOB

The roof of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, next to the White House. I really liked the lines and colors, during sunset.

Stockman Rasquith Montano

Detail of the Vietnam War Memorial. I am always awed when I go there; it feels like a sanctuary. I don't know the people named here, I picked them randomly. I do like the red reflection (someone's shirt).

Monumental

This is, uh, the, er, ... oh yeah, Washington Monument. I always knew nothing in DC could be built taller than this monument, but it didn't really dawn on me until I saw this from across the river on the way to Reagan National. It really stands out.

My postcard shot from our DC trip!

Rocky Puddle

When I stopped at High Falls the other day, the gorgeous light had been replaced by clouds. I hope to head back more days to capture different kinds of light.

Playing around in the weeds and my f/1.8 lens. This looks kind of weird, I suppose, but I like it.

Grey

I'm still not sure I like this. I've processed it three different ways, and this is the best I've come up with. It should look good, but I'm just not sure....sigh.
