In 'Da House

For those of you not from the South, you might not know about Waffle House. Waffle House is a chain of quick service, made to order diners, serving yummy food fast. They are famous for their waffles (duh!), but I love their omelets. They have about 1500 locations, and 5 just in my little town south of Atlanta. Next time you see one, check it out. They will wish you "Good morning" when you walk in and take good care of you!

Oh, and urban myth says that, until the last few years, Waffle Houses were built with no locks on the front doors--because they never close. A few years ago, they added doors, mainly for security when the stores were being built. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year....honest!

Rusty Bowtie

A little detail from the front grille of the Impala I ran across the other day. I love the Chevy "bowtie" emblem on this car, as well as the great purple color on the hood.

"All Eyes On Me"

While traveling in Memphis, I was driving through a parking lot when this beauty caught my eye. It's a Chevy Impala, but I don't know what year. The color was, um, variegated.

Shot at 12mm...'cuz it's fun!

"The Day After The End of the War"

I saw the project on Utata called "The Day After the End of the War" and the best example I could come up with, and actually take a picture of, was my son's room, which looks like a bomb went off!

Concourse C, Gate 1

When I fly, I usually have flights that leave between 7 and 8 a.m., which means I get to the airport by 6 or 6:30, or earlier. I always travel with my camera, even though it means checking my suitcase. I am always looking for interesting views while waiting at the gate for my plane. Last week, this was the vista out the window. Not bad for the busiest airport in the world.
The sun, ready for takeoff.
