Branching Out

Our backyard during the recent ice storm. Atlanta doesn't handle ice well; the city shuts down. This weekend was no exception. We lost power for a few hours on Saturday, but the excitement was when the power line pulled out of the side of our house (but is still connected). At 5 a.m., that wakes you quite rudely!

I'll try to post more in the next few days. I shot some film, too, and want to see how they compare to the digital. Please leave comments, especially constructive criticism on the photography.

Youth

Annemarie and friends at a New Year's Eve sleepover. Sleepovers and friends are part of what make youth so much fun. I do sometimes agree, though, with the axim "Youth is wasted on the young."

Night One

With inspiration from Bob at NoTraces and John at Orbit1, I tried my hand at night photography. I only took a few shots, and these are the best of the lot. I'd appreciate comments on what you think, especially if you know why there's so much noise in the sky. Maybe it's the quality of my camera?

Floating Market

The Floating Market in Bangkok, Thailand. Everything looked so bright and colorful; this photo doesn't do it justice, but it was overcast. Taken during our trip to Thailand to pick up Jonathan.

Go Stillers!

In honor of the Steelers game against the Patriots, I am posting this photo. If the Falcons and Steelers both make it to the Super Bowl, I won't know who to root for!
This was taken at the Heinz Museum in Pittsburgh, which we enjoyed immensely.

To The Ships!

From Nassau, Bahamas, taken in February 2004 during a week-long conference there. Tough duty, but someone has to do it! :)
